Nina Garcia at Home

Nina Garcia in her New York City apartment, which was renovated and decorated by Carlos Aparicio ofAparicio + Assoc. The nude is by Lucian Freud, the 1920s lamps are by Just Andersen from BAC, and the marble mantel is from Chesney’s.

For the living room, Garcia selected furnishings from BAC, Aparicio’s decorative-arts gallery, including a leather-clad Fritz Henningsen armchair, a 1940s French daybed, and Carl Malmsten klismos-style chairs. On the pedestal stands a midcentury Kähler vase; the secretary is ’40s Danish, the table lamp is a ’20s piece by Svend Hammershøi for Kähler, and the ’40s side table is by Henningsen. A Ronald Albert Martin gouache-and-ink abstract is mounted above the sofa.
In a corner of the living room, a Henningsen sofa is grouped with a Joan Mitchell lithograph and André Sornay armchairs.

n the guest room are an Axel Einar Hjorth armchair, a Frank desk, a Marc du Plantier iron chair, and a vintage Swedish carpet from BAC; the curtains and rods are by Jonas.

In the master bedroom, Cindi Johnson prints from BAC flank the custom-made bed; the side tables are by Frank for             Comte, the bench is an Emilio Terry design, the rug is Swedish, and the carpeting is by Tai Ping.

A Frank chaise longue graces the dressing room, along with a Frank tripod table and a carpet by Tai Ping; the watercolor is by Salvador Dalí.

Garcia in the guest room with her sons, Alexander (on the bed) and Lucas; above the bed is a photograph by Vik Muniz, and the nesting tables are by Frank.

Living in Peace and Harmony

Hey dear friends!  I am so excited to show you this lovely home in the islands . When ever I'm feeling the need for serenity these photos send me into  a day dream  and  realize, there is so much more to life! Breath, close your eyes and dream. It doesn't have to be too elaborate. Just comfortable simplicity.
                                                                    Au Revoir!

BATHROOM DETAILS

Hello Friends ! Seems like we made it through the winter months and are ready for  spring! The latest project on my plate is a bathroom renovation! Searching for inspiring details to make this bathroom unique, yet warm and inviting.  Love the wood mirror detail in the above photo.  Free standing bowls are still a good option  as well as stone and marble for countertops. The selections and materials available today make it difficult to make choices.  If you do the research first and save your favorites,  I am  sure it will help your project run smoothly!

Ciao!
